The reducer is generally composed of a housing, reducer accessories, gears, shafts, and bearings.

First, look at the housing: it is an important part of the reducer and the base of the transmission parts. It must have sufficient strength and rigidity. The housing is usually made of gray cast iron. For heavy-loaded or impact-loaded reducers, cast steel housings can also be used. For reducers produced by a single unit, in order to simplify the manufacturing process and reduce production costs, a housing welded with steel plates can be used.

The second is the reducer accessories: the reducer accessories contain a lot of things, such as the lubricating oil of the reducer. During normal use, pay attention to the height of the oil level, oil drainage, oil filling, and other issues.

Finally, there is the combination of gears, shafts and bearings: the pinion and shaft are made into one piece, called the gear shaft. This structure is used when the diameter of the gear is not closely related to the diameter of the shaft. If the diameter of the shaft is d and the diameter of the gear root circle is df, then when df-d≤6-7mn, this structure should be used. When df-d>6-7mn, the gear and shaft are separated into two parts, such as the low-speed shaft and the large gear. At this time, the gear and shaft are axially fixed with a flat key connection, and the parts on the shaft are axially fixed using the shaft shoulder, sleeve and bearing cover. Both shafts use deep groove ball bearings.
