The Difference Between a Concrete Mixer and a Cement Tanker

cement mixing truck ShippingConcrete mixer truck and cement tanker truck are commonly used equipment in the construction industry, so what is the difference between the two?

1. Functional difference

The main function of cement tank truck is to transport various bulk building materials and mixed materials such as cement, and its vehicle structure and operation process are designed and organized around product transportation. The main function of the mixer is to manufacture concrete, which requires constant mixing operations at the back of the vehicle, and the vehicle structure and operation process are designed and organized around concrete mixing.

2. Appearance difference

Cement tank truck and concrete mixer truck have obvious differences in appearance. The cement tank truck is shaped like a large cylinder, with one or more standing tanks on the body for transporting bulk building materials such as cement. The shape of the mixer is more like an ordinary car, but there is a large bucket in the back for mixing concrete.

3. Structural differences

The construction of cement tankers and mixers is also very different. Cement tank truck is mainly composed of carriage, tank, hydraulic system, etc. The basic principle is to load cement or bulk building materials into the tank through the hydraulic system, and then separate the impurities through the sludge discharge device on the tank, and then pump out the effective material. The mixing truck is mainly composed of the carriage, mixing drum, transmission system, etc. The basic principle is to mix cement, stone, sand, etc., through the mixing drum to form concrete, and then transport the concrete to the corresponding position.
In summary, although cement tank trucks and concrete mixing trucks are common transport vehicles in construction sites, there are great differences in appearance, structure and function. Understanding these differences can help us better choose the right vehicle to meet our needs.
