I. Classification of Multifunctional Truck-Mounted Cranes

  1. Flatbed Transport Trucks with Truck-Mounted Cranes

Structure: A climbing ladder is installed at the rear of the truck-mounted crane cargo box (as shown in the above picture), equipped with a ramp. The bottom plate uses 5mm to 10mm thick checkered plate, and the longitudinal and transverse beams at the bottom of the cargo box are square tubes.

Usage: Mainly used for pulling excavators, harvesters, and other construction machinery.

Optional Configurations: Manual or hydraulic telescoping can be installed on both sides of the cargo box, and the climbing ladder can be equipped with hydraulic telescoping.

    1. Road clearance with truck-mounted craneCrane Truck

Structure: Based on the foundation of a wrecker truck, a crane is installed (as shown in the above picture), equipped with a hydraulic winch, using stamped plate or checkered plate material, and featuring a rear outrigger.

Usage: Mainly used for vehicle rescue, capable of lifting vehicles directly onto the rescue vehicle for convenient and swift operations.

      1. Self-dumping truck-mounted cranecrane truck

Structure: Dual-stage hydraulic cylinders are installed at the bottom of the truck-mounted crane cargo box (as shown in the above picture), with the spacing between the bottom beams of the cargo box controlled between 25-30 centimeters.

Usage: It enables automatic unloading, mainly used for transporting sand, bricks, and scrap materials. It allows for one-touch unloading, resulting in high operational efficiency.

        1. Truck-mounted crane with lifting basket

Structure: A lifting basket is installed at the front end of the truck-mounted crane boom (as shown in the above picture).

Usage: Mainly used for high-altitude operations, facilitating tasks such as streetlight or power line maintenance, and exterior renovations of tall buildings.

          1. Truck-mounted crane with drilling rigcrane truck

Structure: A high-strength spiral drill bit is installed on the boom (as shown in the above picture), powered by a hydraulic pump to perform three functions: lifting, transportation, and drilling.

Usage: Mainly used for operations such as drilling wells, planting trees, and digging holes for utility poles.

            1. Truck-mounted crane with wood or brick grabbercrane truck

Structure: A wood or brick grabber is installed at the front end of the boom (as shown in the above picture), operated through a hydraulic system for automatic contraction and flexible operation.

Usage: It allows for bulk lifting of wood or bricks, saving lifting time and reducing vehicle costs.

II. Advantages of Multifunctional Truck-Mounted Cranes

              1. Cost savings in purchasing vehicles: With multiple functions in one vehicle, tasks that previously required several vehicles can now be accomplished with just one, thereby enhancing work efficiency.
              2. Labor savings: Utilizing a multifunctional truck-mounted crane can save on labor costs by reducing the need for 1 to 2 personnel.
              3. Expanded applications: Capable of performing tasks that other vehicles cannot, a multifunctional truck-mounted crane opens up more avenues for revenue generation.

In summary, the versatility of a truck-mounted crane allows for the selection of various functions based on specific needs. It’s essential to analyze each situation individually and determine specialized functions according to local operational requirements.
