Precautions for loading and unloading goods with dump trucks

The dump truck manufacturer tells you that the general load capacity of a dump truck is between 1 and 20 tons. Due to the variable driving routes and sometimes working in narrow parks or dangerous areas, if you are not careful during driving, it will lead to serious consequences such as vehicle destruction and loss of life. Now we will introduce to you the precautions for driving a dump truck.

Dump Truck Product List

Most dump trucks are powered by diesel engines. After starting, they should idle for a while first and resume operation when the water temperature rises to 45℃.

2. The loading of dump trucks should be controlled within the rated capacity. Due to frequent driving at construction sites, sometimes the road conditions are very poor. If overloaded, it will cause premature damage to components such as steel plates, beams, and axles. At the same time, it will also trigger accidents due to the increased vehicle inertia and the decline of braking function.

3. It is strictly prohibited to carry people in the vehicle compartment or to mix passengers and goods. During operation, no one is allowed to get on or off the vehicle or perform lubrication or adjustment work. If the cargo bed is damaged, it is not allowed to transport loose materials to prevent spillage during transportation.

4. Only when the dump truck has come to a complete stop and is braked can it be allowed to load materials. When loading materials, the raised bucket or bucket must not exceed the cab of the dump truck to ensure the safety of the staff. When dumping materials, the movement should be gentle and steady, and try to stay close to the cargo bed as much as possible. Do not load the vehicle rudely to avoid damaging the cargo bed. When loading large stones weighing more than one ton, a crane should be used for hoisting and they should be evenly and thoroughly arranged. If necessary, additional firmness should be added to prevent the stones from being misaligned or rotating, which could cause the vehicle to tip over.

5. When transporting thin materials such as cement mortar, the loading capacity should be determined based on the flatness and level of the road. Generally, it should not exceed 4/5 of the rated capacity to prevent overturning and accidents when passing through uncurved sections.

6. When unloading, the driver should look through the rear window. If one side of the wheels sinks and the vehicle body tilts when the bucket is raised, the driver should immediately lower the bucket, move it and then unload.

7. When unloading on a slope, the dump truck should be parked with the front of the vehicle facing down along the slope. Only when someone instructs it can the front of the vehicle be raised to unload. Unloading on a cross slope is strictly prohibited to prevent overturning.
